I'd rather see all the effort they might put in events like these, to be put in a new trade system. THAT would be an excellent christmas present. I mean, funny little features like snowmen and expendable items, that's all cute for a few days, but on the long run, people will be happier if there's no more sales spamming in lions arch and other cities.

Meh - it'll still be there - so in the long run that'll make things easier, but won't do much for sales spam.
I want a Santa - my character can sit on his lap, and we can whisper about what I want for Christmas....

Ok, I know its simple but what if instead of the mobs just dropping stuff on the ground, they drop a present. The you have to open it to find out what your drop really was!
Oh there just has to be a Quest to get a Santa hat! Maybe we have to go and defeat the Grinch who stole, umm, something.

Santa is part of the secular Christmas. For me there is secular Christmas and Christian Christmas. I chose to celebrate both.
Ideas: Christmas Lights!!!! I love Christmas Lights!!
I like the three different celebrations as well. As a Christian I think it would be nice to have all the religons be able to celebrate, and it would not offend me to go to Henravi and find Monorahs(spelling?) all over. It would also be fun to see a nativity in another city. While the other had Kwanzaa themed stuff (though I'm not sure what that entails).
Please make Christmas come much sooner than Halloween. I'm already in the mood.

It'd be awesome if when I stepped out into a zone a bunch of little munchkin kids were standing there all bundled up singing christmas carols.

What ever happened to the good old days when we didn't have to worry about offending anyone by even using the word 'Christmas'. How is Christmas offensive to anyone? And why did it become blacklisted? I still don't get it...
BTW. I think over 95% of the people playing this game celebrate Christmas (including me)! But to ask the question, do they have Christmas in Tyria...probably not. Most likely a generic 'Winter Celebration' that is embraced by all peoples of Tyria regardless of religion.

anything for more game content and fun!

Guy Fawkes hadn't blown up London parliament in the time of the Guild Wars, we still had pumpkins!
Or maybe...the Mad King tried to blow up King Adelbern's Parliament?

And then I'd cast Rodgort's Invocation and laugh at their charred corpses.

That's right, those beasts still lurk up there in the north and hammer at the gates of Ascalon. Now it's time for us adventurers who left that land so long ago to return and show the Charr leaders what we're really made of. So, all of us are called to venture into the Charr homelands, home to Charr that are highest level 24 (so we can still whoop em).
So we add a new area, going from the Flame Temple Corridor (you can see there is a gap beneath it) right up past Dragon's Gullet and into the northern most reaches of that corner of the map. There'll be Charr camps aplenty, and good drops aplenty. There will be an outpost half way through that has been set up by rebelling prisoners that will help in this great expedition. There will be a few quests from there based on the idea of penetrating and destroying the Charr. Culminating in the battle with their grand leader and his mob, of course.
Moreover, as it is also the named 'Charr Skinning Season' - yeah thats right - we're gonna be charging in there to grab the most valuable Charr hides. Not only will the Charr be giving good drops but also they will be, on their death, presenting Charr hides of ranging value. The idea is to link this to the celebrations in Droknar's by making these Charr hides worth a certain level of gift from whatever thing gives you it (santa, or whatever). So, Charr butt-whoopin' and skinning, quests to defeat the Charr once and for all, and then gifts. Oh, and a certain level of farming available of course. Perhaps these things would last for a certain 3-4 weeks, either around Christmas or running up to it. At the end of this the area and enemies and quests would still be there, just the 'valued hides' would be gone.
What I want to do in the Christmas holiday: Give the Charr a good beatin'! Hell yeah!

I figure we had the best Halloween Event ever. In the history of gaming, there has never been an event that sweet. (I know, I'm prejudiced, but I don't know too many people who would argue with me! )
So now another holiday approaches and, well... let's hear more ideas, hmmmm?
*whistles innocently*
Never too late to add another really crisp and tasty idea, right?
|
..........what have you done for the Chrismas Event....if any?
Well everyone is pretty much expecting something like the halloween event or better. After all Dec is like the only time in which almost every religion has an event.
Already guilds are changing their capes, players are dyeing their armor, and threads like these are poping up.
